Vivah Sankalp ("we", "us") runs a matrimony service through the Vivah Sankalp
Android app and this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what
control you have over it. It applies to the app (package
com.matrimony.vivah2025) and to vivah-sankalp.com.
Information we collect
We only collect what a marriage bureau needs to introduce two families:
- Account details — name, email address and mobile number.
- Biodata you enter — date of birth, gender, height, education, profession, income range, religion, caste and sub-caste, mother tongue, city and state, family details and partner preferences.
- Photographs you upload to your profile.
- Horoscope details — birth time, birth place, rashi, nakshatra, gotra and manglik status, used for kundali matching.
- Activity in the app — profiles you shortlist, interests you send or receive, and profile views.
- Device push token, so we can send you notifications about interests and matches.
We do not collect your location in the background, your contacts, or your call and SMS history.
How we use it
- Showing you matches and showing your profile to other verified members
- Verifying your profile before it is published
- Kundali (guna milan) compatibility between two profiles
- Notifying you about interests, matches and account activity
- Preventing fake profiles, fraud and abuse
- Customer support
Who can see your profile
Your biodata is visible to other members of Vivah Sankalp, subject to the privacy setting you choose in the app. Contact details such as your mobile number and email are never shown publicly on your profile. For members without a Premium membership, names on other profiles are partially masked.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share data only with the service providers that run the platform:
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivering push notifications
- Our hosting and database providers — storing your account and biodata
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members.
Payments
Premium membership is paid directly by UPI to our account and activated manually by our team. We do not collect or store your card number, UPI PIN, bank credentials or any other payment credentials.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS, passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and access to member data inside our team is limited to the staff who verify profiles and handle support. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account in the app, or by writing to us at the address below; we will remove your profile, photos and biodata from the live service. Some records may be retained where the law requires it.
Your rights. You can access and review your data, correct it, control who can view your profile, opt out of promotional messages, and delete your account and data at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us below.
Children
Vivah Sankalp is only for people who are 18 or older and legally eligible for marriage. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has registered, tell us and we will remove the profile.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app.
